Our Story

A Family Legacy of Love and Care

Our story is not really about starting a business. It’s about a family’s deep, lifelong calling to care for others as if they were our own.

It all began with our beloved mother and grandmother, Yvonne a remarkable Registered Nurse whose gentle heart and quiet strength touched every life she encountered.

She didn’t just provide medical care; she offered comfort, dignity, and a sense of home to people when they needed it most.

Seeing how many families longed for care that felt personal and respectful, Yvonne founded Care Time with one simple vision: to treat every client like a cherished member of the family.

Her daughter, Elizabeth, also a passionate Registered Nurse, grew up watching her mother’s dedication and compassion in action.

Inspired by Yvonne’s example, Elizabeth stepped into leadership with the same unwavering commitment to integrity, empathy, and genuine connection. Under Elizabeth’s caring guidance, Care Time has continued to grow over the past 30 years, proudly serving more families across Brisbane and beyond while always preserving that warm, family centred feeling that has defined us from the very beginning.

Today, this beautiful legacy spans three generations. Elizabeth’s eldest daughter, Madeleine, is proudly continuing the nursing tradition in Palliative Care. Her younger daughters, Mallory and Maggie, are already showing the same kind and caring spirit that runs through our family, and we are excited to see where their hearts will lead them in the future.

While her sons, Xander and Zane, support the business by mowing lawns, fixing cars and building walls the heart of Care Time remains deeply rooted in the values passed down from Yvonne to Elizabeth and now to the next generation.

For us, Care Time has never been just a job it is who we are.

We are a close-knit family who genuinely cares for other families.

Every visit, every conversation, and every act of support is done with the same love, respect, and dedication we would give to our own parents, grandparents, or children.

We feel truly honoured to walk alongside your family during this chapter of life.

Our family caring for your family.

A Love Letter to my Mum - The Heartbeat of Care Time

Mum,

You were never just my mother. You were the heartbeat of everything we are today at Care Time.

From the moment I can remember, you showed me what real care looked like.

You weren’t the loudest voice in the room, but your gentle hands, soft voice, and quiet strength made everyone around you feel safe, seen, and deeply loved.

Whether you were caring for patients in the hospital or comforting someone in their own home, you understood that care wasn’t just about tasks, it was about presence.

You listened. You stayed. You held hands a little longer. You loved without holding back.

When you founded Care Time more than 30 years ago, it wasn’t about building a big business. It was about bringing the same warmth and dignity you gave in the hospital wards directly into people’s homes the place where they felt most themselves.

You wanted every family to know they weren’t alone.

You wanted them to feel respected, valued, and cared for like they were part of our family.

And somehow, you made that happen so naturally that many of your clients truly became part of ours.

I grew up watching you, Mum.

I saw you come home exhausted, yet still find the energy to smile and ask about someone’s day.

I saw how you remembered the little things a favourite flower, a grandchild’s name, a quiet fear someone was too proud to voice.

Those moments shaped me more than I can ever say.

When I stepped into your shoes as Director, my only goal was to protect what you started.

I didn’t want to change it I just wanted to keep your heart in every visit, every phone call, and every promise we make.

Today, Care Time continues to grow, but we have never lost that family feeling you created.

We still believe the best care feels like family stepping in to help.

Your grandsons, Xander and Zane, are now part of the journey, learning the same values you taught me integrity, compassion, and showing up with love even on the hardest days. Your granddaughters Madeleine, who is already a Enrolled Nurse, and young Mallory and Maggie carry that same caring spirit.

They’re watching, learning, and dreaming of how they might one day continue this beautiful legacy of love.

Mum, your spirit walks into every home with us.

When we hold someone’s hand through a difficult moment, when we share a laugh that lights up their day, when we help them feel safe and strong again - that’s you.

You’re still here in the dignity we protect, in the kindness we choose first, and in the love we give without expecting anything in return.

Thank you for teaching us what care truly means.

Thank you for being my mum, my teacher, and my hero.

I miss you every single day, but we carry you with us in everything we do.

Forever your daughter, and forever grateful,

Elizabeth.
