Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33021)

This is the core entry-level qualification for almost all in-home and community care roles in Queensland. It covers person-centred support, individualised care plans, personal care, disability support, and ageing needs.

• Specialisations: Ageing, Disability, or combined Ageing & Disability.

• Why essential: It's the standard minimum for NDIS providers, aged care (CHSP/HACC), home care workers, and many employers require it for roles involving direct client support. It's nationally recognised and often funded/subsidised.

• Duration: Typically 6–12 months (with 120 hours work placement).

• Providers: TAFE Queensland, Skills Training College, Carers Queensland, etc.
